Bio-Puncture

Biopuncture is a new therapy developed by Dr Jan Kersschot a General Practitioner in Belgium. He teaches this technique world wide. The name Biopuncture originated from combining the word biotherapeutics (bio) with acupuncture (puncture). Biopuncture is the injection of biological products (naturopathic and homeopathic products) into specific areas. It uses biotherapeutic injections to stimulate the natural self-healing capacities of your body. Biopuncture is a safe and efficient technique in complementary medicine.

Many people are apprehensive about injections and find it to be painful and invasive. In fact, these injections cannot be compared with the usual injections given in conventional medicine. They are not as painful as a normal injection because the needle used is very fine and the quantity injected is very small. Most of them are given into or just under the skin, others are given into specific muscle points/trigger points or into and around joints. Acupuncture points and meridians are also used.

The formulas injected are natural and are used instead of conventional agents (eg. cortisone) with the idea of stimulating the bodies natural repair mechanisms to bring about healing and balance in that area. You may find instant results from one treatment, especially if the condition is acute, however the more chronic the condition you may find that you may need 3 or more sessions before any improvement is noted. If you have had problems for several months or even years, it means looking for deeper causes and working on these. As a result, you may need ten or more sessions to feel better. When you realise that these products are natural products that do not have any major side effects and the aim of the therapy is to bring about complete healing, you may be motivated to be more patient than usual.

Biopuncture will always be performed according to the latest technical and safety standards. The low dose naturopathic and homeopathic content of the injection ampoules mean that the side-effects are negligible. Most of the ampoules used for injection are made in Germany and are submitted to very strict quality control regulations and systems. Many of these products used have also been tested in double blind tests and drug monitoring.

Biopuncture is mostly used for minor orthopaedic and musculo-skeletal problems, both acute and chronic: Neck pain, whiplash, back pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, neuralgia and all types of sports injuries.
However, Biopuncture is not just used for pain problems, but other conditions such as allergies and inflammations respond well, e.g. asthma, eczema and hay fever. Patients with arthritis, sinusitis, bronchitis, cystitis, shingles, infertility and Parkinsonism can also be treated with this technique.
Biopuncture is a technique often used for patients who are unable to take conventional medication due to side effects or are hoping to avoid surgery. Biopuncture can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine. Biopuncture is a safe and effective complementary therapy.
